Online Career Resources

 

If you are unable to make it to the CRC in person, there are several online resources you might find helpful.  However, you are still highly encouraged to make use of the print and computer resources located in the CRC as they can provide more in depth information on particular careers and career areas.

 

What Can I Do With A Major In….?

 

Use these websites to help you discover what you can do with a major you already have or are considering.  These are particularly useful for individuals who have chosen a major based on their interest in learning about a particular subject matter, but are not sure how that major may translate into a career.

This website allows you to search by skills, job titles, or key words. Click “Find

Occupation” and enter a key word. It returns a list of job titles that match the general

category entered. Each job contains a list of work tasks, knowledge, skills, work context, job zone, interests, work values, wages, employment outlook, and related occupations.

Career and Student Employment Services (CASES)

The CASES homepage provides you with a wealth of career information. The office

coordinates several career fairs and campus events related to career activities. CASES also provides career advising, resume critique services, and assistance with interview preparation. There is a job search engine known as BRONCOJOBS available on this site and a useful career manual. There are career podcasts which provide information about various careers. Focus and Perfect Interview are other special features of the site.

University Counseling & Testing Center

This is the homepage of the University Counseling and Testing Center (UCTC). You can

find useful information about the career and personal counseling services provided to students.

Career counseling provides students with the opportunity to explore why they are having

difficulties selecting a career. Utilizing a career assessment such as the Career Guidance

Inventory, career counselors offer students personalized attention and assistance in their career decision-making process.
