Q. What else does the Career Resource Center Offer?

The DISCOVER program is also offered in the Career Resource Center.
DISCOVER is a computer-based career planning and information system that supports mature decision making. There are four comprehensive sections of Halls, designed to take a student from beginning their major/career search through a decision making process into the job placement arena. The four Halls are as follows:

Hall 1 Learn about Self and Career
Hall 2 Choose Occupations
Hall 3 Plan my Education
Hall 4 Plan for Work

These Halls give students the opportunity to take inventories on their interests, abilities and values. They also can find occupations by using the World of Work Map, inventories, work characteristics, and the "look up" method. In addition, majors can be researched through occupations, the World of Work Map and the "look up" method. There are 270 complete descriptions of majors in DISCOVER and over 550 occupational descriptions representing about 2000 occupations.

In addition, we recommend that you make an appointment with a career counselor in the University Counseling and Testing Center.
