Would
you like to schedule an appointment at the University Counseling
and Testing Center?
Personal Counseling Appointment:
If
you would like to schedule an appointment phone the Counseling
and Testing Center (269-387-1850) or contact the receptionist
in Suite 2513 of the Faunce Student Services
Building (Birdcage Building). If it is your first contact
with the Center, or if it has been more than a year since you
were last seen, you will be asked to complete an interactive computerized
assessment instrument. This process will take about 20 minutes
and provide important information that will enable the staff to
best meet your needs. After the assessment is completed, an appointment
will be scheduled at the first mutually convenient time available.
Please
inform the receptionist if your situation requires immediate attention.
Special arrangements will be made for you to meet with a counselor
as soon as possible.
Career Counseling Appointment:
If
you wish to meet with an academic or career counselor phone the
Center (269-387-1850) or stop by the office at Suite 2513 in the Faunce Student Services Building (Birdcage
Building) and request an appointment. A session will be scheduled
as soon as possible.
Career Testing Appointment:
If you wish to meet with a counselor for career testing phone the Center (269-387-1850) or stop by the office at Suite 2513 in the Faunce Student Services Building (Birdcage Building) and request an appointment.
After Hours Assistance:
Office hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. If you need to speak with someone during non-business hours, you can contact a phone counselor at the Gryphon Place Help Line at 269-381-4357 (269-381-HELP). Gryphon is a 24 hour help line that offers phone crisis counseling and general referral information. If you feel you need to meet with a mental health counselor, you may do so at the Borgess Medical Center Emergency Room at 1521 Gull Road. Borgess Medical Center Emergency Room can be reached at 269-226-4815. Borgess provides immediate psychiatric assessment and treatment 24 hours a day.
